L’industriel français qui venait de reprendre l’usine d’Okke, souhaitait y intégrer sa marque et sa patte. Au-delà d’apposer son logo, c’était faire ce qu’il convenait de faire pour améliorer l’aspect du site vu de l’intérieur comme de l’extérieur pour montrer sa bonne volonté d’investisseur étranger à bien s’intégrer dans le paysage local. Là plus qu’ailleurs l’impact culturel a dicté la manière de travailler et les actions possibles. Le travail s’est porté sur le sommet de hauts silos visuellement très exposés depuis la mer, sur la création d’un bâtiment d’entrée d’usine digne de ce nom et de sa fonction, sur une recoloration complète de l’usine accompagné d’un travail sur la clôture, pour tenter de détourner l’attention des riverains sur l’énorme tas de charbon qui formait une véritable colline dans l’usine.

The French industrialist, who had just taken over the Okke plant, wanted to integrate his brand and style. In addition to affixing his logo, he wanted to do what had to be done to improve the visual impact from both inside and outside to show his willingness as a foreign investor to integrate well into the local landscape. Here, more than anywhere else, the cultural impact dictated the way we worked and the actions we could take. The work focused on the tops of the high silos, visually very exposed from the sea, on the creation of a gatehouse building worthy of the name and its function, on a complete recoloration of the plant accompanied by work on the fence, in an attempt to divert the attention of residents from the enormous coal pile that formed a veritable hill within the plant.
