Lauréat du concours international lancé en 2016, il nous a été confié l’étude architecturale en 2018 sur la base d’un programme élargi à 5 000 tonnes/jour (2 000 Tonnes au stade du concours), ce qui en fait, à ce jour, la plus grande usine de ce type au monde. Le complexe industriel a été opérationnel courant 2024.

Concept: L’architecture industrielle est un point de rencontre entre l’homme et la machine. A chacun son échelle, mais un même projet fonctionnel où chacun trouve son expression et son identité. Le carénage de l’usine est conçu de manière à contenir le process dans une enveloppe technologique, synthétique, rassurante et séduisante. Les formes courbes adoucissent une volumétrie monumentale propre à l’activité et à la spécificité dimensionnelle de cette unité industrielle. Le bâtiment administratif, édifice regroupant les fonctions logistiques de l’usine, affirme son identité par une échelle appropriée, à la fois sobre, industrie oblige, et raffinée. Les formes arrondies, organiques et culturelles sont également utilisées pour les ouvertures afin de sceller l’osmose entre l’homme et la machine.

Winner of the international competition launched in 2016, we were entrusted with the architectural study in 2018. Based on an expanded program of 5,000 tons per day (2,000 at the competition stage), it is still the largest waste-to-energy plant worldwide. The industrial complex is operational since 2024.

Pitch: Industrial architecture is a meeting point between man and machine. Each has its scale, but it is a common functional project where everyone finds their expression and identity. The plant’s fairing is designed to contain the process within a technological, synthetic, reassuring, and attractive envelope. The curved shapes soften the monumental volume specific to the dimensional features of this industrial unit. The administrative building, which houses the logistical functions of the plant, asserts its identity through an appropriate scale, both sober, as the industry requires, and refined. Rounded, organic, and cultural shapes are also used for the openings, reinforcing the harmony between man and machine.
